Pure Yellow Beeswax Honeycomb Sheets
A completely natural choice, prized for its warm, golden hue and subtle, sweet fragrance. This pure-grade beeswax presented as honeycomb-patterned sheets is perfect for creating traditional rolled candles, as well as organic cosmetics or blends that require a firm structure and an extended burn time.
Retains its natural honey fragrance and characteristic golden tone, ideal for 100% authentic products.
Pharmaceutical-grade pure, with an exceptionally low impurity level (just 0.1%).
Ideal for rolling decorative candles directly, or for cutting and melting into blends with soy wax.
Technical Guide for Makers
- Wick Selection: Because beeswax is dense, we recommend cotton wicks. For rolled candles, make sure the wick is pressed firmly against the edge of the sheet before you begin rolling, to avoid air gaps. If pouring candles, test with 1-2 sizes larger than you would use for soy.
- Fragrance Profile: Since this wax already carries a natural honey scent, we recommend fragrance oils that complement it (e.g. vanilla, cinnamon, woody notes). Use a slightly lower concentration to avoid masking the natural aroma.
- For Melting & Pouring (Blends): If you choose to melt the sheets, pre-warm glass containers to approximately 40°C before pouring to minimise thermal shock and the appearance of wet spots.
- Crack Prevention: For poured candles, cool slowly at room temperature. Beeswax has a higher shrinkage rate, so avoiding cold air drafts is essential.
Temperatures & Usage (For melt-and-pour applications)
| Melting Point | 61 – 66 °C (Batch optimum: 63.2 °C) |
| Fragrance Addition | 70 – 75 °C (Stir gently for at least 2 min) |
| Pour Temperature | 65 – 70 °C |
| Fragrance Load | 4% – 6% (up to 8% with prior testing) |
Pro Tip:
When making cold-rolled candles, make sure you work in a warm room (approx. 22-25°C). If the honeycomb sheets are too cold, they lose their pliability and may crack during rolling. A handy trick is to gently warm the sheet from a distance with a hair dryer on a low setting just before rolling, to achieve a perfectly tight and well-finished candle.
