Soy Wax for Containers – Cargill NatureWax C3
Made in the USA by Cargill, NatureWax C-3 is a 100% natural, food-grade soy wax in flake form. It is Cargill’s most popular blend for container candles and wax melts, standing out for its excellent glass adhesion (minimising wet spots), outstanding cold and hot fragrance throw, and impeccable colour retention. It contains soy-derived additives that reduce the risk of frosting and allow for a high fragrance load.
Biodegradable, vegetarian, non-toxic, made from 100% non-GMO soybeans. No petroleum or synthetic additives.
Provides superior glass adhesion, a creamy opaque finish, with minimised wet spots and frosting.
Delivers strong fragrance throw, high compatibility with various dyes, and a clean, smoke-free burn.
Technical Guide for Makers
- Preparing Containers: Containers should be clean and dry. We recommend bringing them at least to room temperature or preheating to approx. 45-50°C for optimal adhesion.
- Choosing a Wick: Works excellently with pre-waxed FB or ECO wicks, as well as wooden wicks (pre-waxed beforehand). Make sure to choose the size appropriate to the container diameter.
- Adding Colour: Compatible with solid dyes, Bekro dye flakes or natural powder colourants (Mica) for a distinctive look in decorative candles or wax melts.
- Adding Fragrance: A dosage of 6-8% is recommended (accepts up to 8%, and in some cases up to 10%). Add the fragrance oil at approximately 70°C and stir thoroughly for at least 2 minutes.
- Melting, Pouring and Cooling: Melt the wax avoiding exceeding 85°C. Pouring temperature depends on the ambient environment (see technical table). Cool slowly in a constant-temperature environment (20-25°C) to avoid deformation. Uneven surfaces can be corrected with a heat gun or a second thin top pour.

Quality, Equipment and Safety
| Specification | Details / Compliance |
|---|---|
| Origin & Certifications | Made in the USA by Cargill. Food grade, 100% non-GMO soybeans, biodegradable, vegetarian, non-toxic. |
| Recommended Equipment | Use stainless steel utensils. Avoid contact with copper or zinc containers to prevent wax discolouration. |
| Precautions | Temporarily withstands temperatures up to 85°C if cooled quickly; higher temperatures may cause discolouration. Use digital thermometers. |
| Recommended Applications | Container candles (jars, bottles, tins) and wax melts. |
Professional Tip: Temperature Control and Cooling Environment
To reduce the risk of frosting and achieve flawless glass adhesion, maintain a warm ambient temperature (20-25°C), preheat moulds and avoid draughts or sudden temperature changes while cooling. Always test each wick, fragrance and dye combination to achieve optimal burn performance.
