Kerax KeraSoy Container 4130 Soy Wax specially designed for container candles

This 100% soy wax was specifically developed for creating container candles. Soy Wax 4130 is suitable for creating scented candles and container candles (jar, glass, metal tin, etc.). Many recipes are possible with this wax.

Ideal for poured candles

Soy wax is an excellent solution when you want to make your own container candles. It has a number of advantages that make it easy to create high-quality candles. The color and shape of the flakes may vary depending on availability and harvest.

Ideal for creating massage candles

Soy wax has a low melting point, which makes it an excellent wax for massage candles. It burns optimally, releasing a delicate fragrance as you use it.

Characteristics of Soy Wax 4130 for container candles

KeraSoy Container 4130 Soy Wax is natural, biodegradable, and vegan, specifically designed for making container candles. It offers excellent fragrance diffusion, a smooth surface, good adhesion to glass, and provides a uniform finish, generally from a single pour.

Usage characteristics

  • Melting point: between 42 and 48°C (average specification ~45.5°C)
  • Congealing temperature: between 34 and 42°C
  • Fragrance load: accepts up to 10-12%, depending on tests
  • Compatible with granular and liquid dyes
  • We recommend cooling to 25°C with a rest period of 48 hours before any burn test
  • Preferably wicks adapted to vegetable waxes, which must be adjusted according to the fragrance, color, and diameter of the container
  • Can temporarily withstand temperatures up to 80°C if cooled quickly

User guide and technical tips

Melting point and usage temperature

Soy wax has a low melting point (42-48°C). It is easier to handle than other types of wax, which need to be heated longer.

Adding color

If you wish to add granular dye, heat the wax to approximately 75°C and stir until completely dissolved. The dye can also be dissolved in the fragrance before being added to the melted wax.
For liquid dyes, heat the wax to approximately 70°C.
For a darker or more intense shade, add a small amount of black dye.

Incorporating fragrance

Being odorless, soy wax will not alter the fragrances of your creations. Fragrance is added after the dye has been integrated.
This soy wax for container candles can be used with any type of fragrance, but we recommend choosing excellent quality ones. An entry-level fragrance could alter the candle’s burn and not offer an optimal scent.
A dosage between 7 and 10% is recommended.

Using Kerasoy 4130 wax for poured scented candles

Soy Wax 4130 is perfect for poured scented candles, with a beautiful burn that leaves no residue on the container. This vegetable wax is also natural and cruelty-free.

Optimal container filling

Melt the wax gently in a double boiler and do not exceed 80°C. The melting point is around 45°C. After pouring, let it cool to room temperature (20°-25°C). Filling requires only a single pour.

Choosing wicks

With soy wax, we recommend TCR or ECO type candle wicks, chosen according to the diameter of your container.
Vegetable waxes, such as soy wax, often require slightly thicker wicks than those used for paraffin wax. But be careful: if the wick is too large, it can cause the wax to leak, burn too fast, or dig into the edges of the container. On the other hand, a wick that is too thin may not melt the surface correctly and create a tunnel around the flame. If the flame flickers or if the burn does not seem regular, do not hesitate to test another type of wick.

Cooling conditions

Once the candle has been poured, it must be allowed to cool to room temperature and left to rest for 48 hours before use. This will ensure that the candle sets perfectly!

The temperatures given above are the result of internal tests and may differ from the values given in the supplier’s technical data sheets.
